| I just did it a few weeks ago. The steering shaft has to be removed from the steering rack at some point, and the eaisest way is to loosen the tightening bolt where the shaft with the splines goes into the knuckle. Make sure to have the wheels straight when separating and then joining the two, and mark the shaft before hand with a white paint pen so you wont mess up your steering wheel alignment. It sounds intimidating, but when you're down there looking at it its not bad at all.
